About Me

Tanner C. Woods joined the Manasseh, Gill, Knipe & Belanger, PLC team in 2018 with a primary focus on protecting people and their property from government overreach.

Raised on a cotton farm in Gilliam, Louisiana outside of Shreveport, Tanner learned the value of hard work early in life. Tanner attended Tulane University where he obtained his undergraduate degree on full scholarship. From there, Tanner pursued a legal career and received a scholarship to attend Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. Tanner is an Eagle Scout and enjoys spending time outdoors in his spare time whether it is fishing, hiking, snow skiing, or some other activity.

Following his admission to the practice of law in 2016, Tanner joined the firm Flowers & Long, LLP in Shreveport, La. where he developed a respectable criminal defense and family law practice. After the untimely passing of Tanner’s mentor Peter R. Flowers in March 2018, Tanner seized the opportunity to join the Manasseh, Gill, Knipe & Belanger team and move his practice to the Baton Rouge area

Tanner is best known for his work on United States v. Gaulden, 2:21-CR-00392, for popular rapper Never Broke Again Youngboy which resulted in a Not Guilty verdict on federal gun charges following a 3-day trial in Los Angeles, California. In that case, Tanner’s work was instrumental in limiting the government’s ability to use the artist’s rap lyrics to prejudice the jury.

Tanner has represented a wide array of other individuals associated with the music industry such as Foxx A Milliyone, BBG Baby Joe, Koastboy Mook, Kap G, Rich Porter, Jonah B, ATM Mally and others

When it comes to helping a high-net-worth individual navigate the criminal justice system, Tanner can provide the attention and dedication needed to ensure the case is resolved as quickly as possible while minimizing the public attention it receives. Tanner understands how to put the resources of a large firm like MGKB Law to work for his clients to get the outcomes upon which our firm’s reputation was built.
