Jay M. Futrell

Jay M. Futrell is originally from Memphis, Tennessee. He joined the United State Air Force in 1996 and rose to the rank of Technical Sergeant and team leader in Explosive Ordnance Disposal (the bomb squad), was stationed at Aviano AB, Italy, Andersen AFB, Guam, and Barksdale AFB, Louisiana, and was deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan, amongst other locations. While serving full time, Jay graduated from Louisiana State University, Shreveport with a degree in history and then attended the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, graduating in 2013.

Following graduation, Jay was admitted to the Louisiana Bar, focusing on Family Law and Criminal Defense. Previously, he worked in private practice, for the 21st Judicial District Court Public Defender’s Office, and most recently, was a family law hearing officer for the parishes of Livingston, St. Helena, and Tangipahoa. He is a member of the Louisiana Bar Association and the 21st JDC Bar Association. He joined the firm in 2023.
